Daddy is a Mean Robot

It's been almost three years, and I'm still learning new things every day.

We went on a car trip to Cape Coral for Mom to say goodbye to her Aunt Michele.  In the care, Mama turned to me and said, "Excuse me, Vie.  I love you."  Unc said, "I love you too, Vie."  So I said to Unc, "I don't think so.  You don't think so, either!"

I am all the time pretending to be someone.  Mickey Mouse, Littlefoot the dinosaur, etc.  The whole family gets involved.  Baby Atlas is usually Pluto or Spike or another non-speaking character.

Playing animal doctor.  The tiger had thorns in his tail, so we had to "Cut it off.  Just a little bit."

At Krispi Kreme with mom on our special day in December.  We took donuts to Daddy's office, then took him out for pizza, then she and I went to the MOSH and saw model trains and pet an albino snake, then saw "A Walk with Dinosaurs" in 3D.

I liked to stash stuff in the drawer in the kitchen table.  They took the drawer out for some reason.

Foot stuck in a panko can.  Don't ask.

First meeting with just Mama.

Superman ice cream in St. Augustine with Unc and family.

Touch a Truck day in Largo with Unc, Grampa, and family Jan 2014.

In October mom put a pretty ruffle skirt on me and I said "I'm a princess".  By January I was saying "Jehovah doesn't like princesses.  They are mean."  Mom approved.

The neighborhood bull mastiff, Romulus was on a walk and I noticed "He has sumping in his hiney".  Mom and Dad told me not to worry about it, but I was curious.  So, when Atlas is getting a bath I was pointing at his pee pee while Daddy washed it.  Mom explained it was a penis.  I said "I has a penis" and she explained that I don't.  She doesn't either.  Daddy does.  "I wanna see your penis, Daddy".  His face got red.  Later he told that story to my uncles and they laughed.  So while Uncle Mark was pushing me on the swing at Riverside Park, I started yelling "PENIS!"  They didn't think it was as funny.  Humor is all about timing I guess.

I hurt my elbows and mom asked me what happened.  I said "Daddy pushed me in the road with the stroller".  He said I was standing on the end of the stroller and stepped down and fell in the road.  That's what I said, Dad.  Another time I stubbed my toe and was sure it was fatal: "I'll never walk again!"

Mom looked at Dad the other day and said, "You're sad.  You're mad", which is something I often say.  I exclaimed, "Don't say it!"  The other morning Dad was singing a song for one of my cartoons and mom sang along.  I told him not to sing.  He asked if Mommy could sing and I said yes.  He asked why and I said he didn't sing pretty.  He did ask.

Before dinner I told Mom "I'm hungry.  You're hungry too".  She laughed and said, "You don't know I'm hungry.  You have to ask me."  So I did: "Please?  Be hungry!"  I stepped up to mom later at the table and said, "Say Ahhh, Mom".  When she did, I stuck a wine cork in her mouth.  Another time I told Daddy "Say bleh" to spit out his food.  He didn't want to, so I explained, "You has to.  You want to".  I help set the table now with silverware I get out of the drawer myself.

Daddy pretends to be a mean robot for me.  Then I power him down with the "button"(mole) behind his ear.  I adjust his gears with my tools and power him up, and he becomes a hugbot.

My grammar is improving.  "I not did!" has now changed to "I didn't".

I'm Not a Baby Anymore

We went to St. Augustine this weekend. Mom was carrying me and tickling and smooching me. Last week I had asked her to "tickle and kiss me again". But this time she went to cradle me in her arms and I reminded her that "I not a baby anymore". Then just last night she came after me again and I let her know: "We are no tickling now, we r playing."

We were getting up and I was snuggling Mom and baby Atlas. Mom asked me which song we should sing to him. I said we should sing "Pizza". She asked me how it went. I sang: "Pizza!" then told her "sing it mom!" So she made something up right then and I made her sing it all day long.

We got some fun books at the library that Mom reads in a neat voice with funny sounds. She calls them French. Dad didn't want to read them to me but I made him do it.

We are having fun for family worship because I understand the stories more now. We built towers to knock down for the stories of Nimrod and Samson.  I like playing Kingdom Hall and will pretend to give a talk.  I help Mom and Dad comment by telling them to "say Jehovah" then encourage them with "I'm proud of you."  We went out in the door to door ministry for the first time since baby Atlas was born and I knocked on the doors doing "lots of numbers".

Got a thing for Mickey.

We had a breakfast picnic at the arboretum.

Annual Meeting day.  Dad might need sunglasses.

We watched Toy Story and then played with Mr. Potato Head.

I am happy.
Dad is Daisy Duck, so he is not happy.

Spinning on the "green playground".

A favorite game is to play hospital checkup time. I have a stethoscope, thermometer, and more and know how to use them. I use my stethoscope to "check on you heartbeep" and when we use the blood pressure cuff I say "It's high!" Some of my patients have unusual maladies, such as a bee in the belly that is cured by holding a flower by their mouth to lure out the bee. One patient just needed a hug.

I am learning to share and be "generous" and also to cleanup. However, recently Dad said it was cleanup time and asked if I wanted to pick up my blocks or kitchen. Since he was asking, I told him: "You do it, Dad".

A new favorite phrase is "I Found sumping". I also love saying "Hm, let me see. I'm thinking." and "I don't know".

Mom burned her hand a couple of weeks ago and I comforted her saying "it's okay mom it's okay." I enjoy comforting her so much, that sometimes I will tell her to cry so I can hug her and say it's okay.

If something is hot, I say: "Blow on it. Pa-poo!"

It's Potty Time

I am two and a half!

Mom came with her jogging stroller and picked me up from school last week.  Haven't been in that thing in a while.  She was breathing funny, musta been having fun.

Last Thursday Mom took off my diaper and let me run around nudies.  Dad put crinkly stuff on the couch and a sheet over it.  Then Mommy's phone made a chiming noise every ten minutes and I had to sit on the potty.  Sometimes things came out of me and Mom and Dad were very excited.  Even the potty sang a song. Sometimes I would get M&Ms, or stickers, or Mom and Dad would dance and clap, or hugs.  Other times when I would pee or poop not on the potty they told me it was okay but they would rather me go in the potty.  By Monday (Labor Day, "no school no work!") Mom was saying it was worth a try but I wasn't quite ready.  I showed her. That very day I started announcing "I have to poop!" or "I have to pee!" and running to the potty on my own.  We went to the Mickey Store (Disney store) at the mall and I picked out a construction kit.  Daddy helped me build a house for Pluto.  Now only one week later I wear undies even on car trips.  Daddy finds that scary for some reason.

I can put on my own keen sandals.  Mom has a matching pair.  I sometimes put them on the wrong feet.  I am learning to put on my own shirt and shorts but not there yet.

I am finding parallels.  Like when Mom points at the grass and says "les herbes" I say "Like my story!" because she reads me "La Chasse a L'Our" (The Bear Hunt) and the family walks through les herbes (the grass).  I am starting to recognise the French words from the book.

Day one of potty training.  We went to the park.  I pooped and peed on DJ's floor.

Mom picked me up at school.

We were gardening.  I wanted a Mickey statue for the garden and Mom wasn't so sure.  So I reminded her that "I poop in the potty".  It worked.

Eating a veggie dog with my Hello Kitty float while going potty.

I love "Poozies" (smoothies) so much that I sing about them.  This one is wild berry from Panera.  Dad had to do a lot of routing stuff on his laptop Thursday morning so we all went out to breakfast together before he went in to the office.

Water in your Pocket

I gave my first comment at the Kingdom Hall on Sunday, August 25, 2013.  For the Watchtower study, paragraph nine asked to whom we need to show loyalty.  I raised my hand and brother Glen Wright called out my name with surprise.  I said into the microphone, "Jehovah" but daddy had to repeat it because brother Wright can't hear very well, poor man.

A few nights ago I saved my baby Atlas from grave danger.  We were all sitting down to dinner and that is a time when it's hard to not just start eating, but we have to wait for "geedo" (prayer in Korean).  Mom looked at Atlas in Daddy's arms and said "Oh, I just want to squeeze him a little too hard!"  I sobbed, "Don't squeeze my baby Atlas!  No, Mommy!"

Saturday we went to the library for story time.  I love getting the shakers and singing Skidamarink and John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.  Last night for my two books before sleep I picked "My Daddy is a Giant" and also "My Daddy is a Giant".  Mommy had to read it once in English and Korean line by line, and again in English and French.  I think it's interesting that there are different words for the same thing.

Then we went to the MOSH in the afternoon and played dinosaur games.  My favorite part was the big tree.  I called it my house and designated areas as my tv, my sink, my couch, and my window.  Daddy sat down on a green carpet outside the tree.  I called that my garden, and mom alerted me to the fact that dad was pooping in my garden.  I ran out of my house and pulled Daddy by the hand into the house to wet a wipe in the sink.  "No no, Daddy.  No poop in my garden.  I don't like it.  Need to change your nappy!"

This morning Dad had me up on the bathroom sink while we were getting ready for school and work.  He laughed when I put some water in my shirt pocket for later.  Guess that idea had never occurred to him.

On a walk with Mommy on Friday when I skipped school.  We made a "family" of flowers.  Later played with Parker and Preslie.

In navy and yellow for our Sunday meeting.

Movies, Snakes, and Cupcakes - That's what little girls are made of

I was so well behaved during Baby Atlas' hospital stay.  Unc and Daddy took care of me at home Saturday morning and Saturday night, and we brought my little pokey pokey home Sunday night.  I am so happy he is home.  Last night, Monday, we were walking around the neighborhood after a dinner of tomato soup and grilled cheese, just like a happy family again.  The tomato soup was "not yucky soup, tasty soup" and I finally gave up on a spoon and picked up my bowl and drank it.

I want to be in the wrapper please.

Holding my baby brother's hand while we both drink mommy milk.

Saw my first movie last weekend, about a really fast snail, Turbo.  I cleaned out two huge buckets of popcorn with very little assistance.

After a light supper of salad, we walked to Los Portales for chips and fried ice cream.  I wanted a sip of mom's green drink but she kept saying it was against the rules and the police would put her in timeout if she gave me any.  Yeah right, just admit you're greed, Ma.

On the way home Daddy caught a snake and let me hold it.  I wasn't even scared.  I like "cakes".

Going to the meeting all matchy matchy with my doll, who I call "my little boots".  This is the dolly I picked off the shelf with Daddy when I was maybe 14 months old.

Now I have a baby to match me at the meetings too!

Even though we ate dinner about one hour before the meeting, I needed a snack.  Then Daddy went inside to comment while I walked in the field with Mom and Atlas.  She asked me who made all the animals and for the first time I clearly replied, "Jehovah God".

Daddy gave me a cupcake.  Mommy put the bib on.  That pretty well sums up their approaches to parenting.

For family worship, Unc came over and practiced the talk he will give this Saturday.  His first public talk will be translated into Korean.  After that, we went for a walk with my binoculars and magnifying glass to take a look at nature and learn about Jehovah.

Making a train out of raisin boxes.

I just love being in the pool with Daddy.  This was taken about 8 hours before we took Atlas to the hospital.
